What are you TACAing about?

Let's talk about the actual travelling aspect of this...

I write this sitting aboard a TACA airline.  I've never flown TACA before.  My thoughts on TACA prior to boarding:  WOW, finally an airline that boards in a logical order!  My stream of thoughts after boardning the plane:  It is very difficult to board into a window seat when the person sitting in the middle doesn't get up, causing you to crawl awkwardly over them.  Hey ma'am...so glad we got to know eachother on that kind of level.  They really don't have much leg room (and I'm practically a midget, so you KNOW it's bad).  When you factor in the seat back pocket that is hanging loose, it doesn't allow for much "climbing space".  But that's ok, I've made it to my seat.  Hmm..these might be the most upright seats out there.  FREE headphones? Sure!!

Now we take off and make it up to cruising altitude.  My seat is broken...it doesn't recline AT ALL.  Luckily for the row in front of me, theirs were just fine.  In my attempt to watch a movie in Spanish, I discover that the volume doesn't actually turn up enough to hear anything.  Nap time.

The food:  yes, please!  Those were some delicious mini pancakes, much like the ones my college roommate, Meghann, and I would eat while sitting on the floor of our dorm room.  They were served with a warm peach compote (why did we never think of that??), a roll, and yogurt.  That's the best airline meal I've had!  The rest of the flight was uneventful as I watched the countries pass below my feet.

TACA: take 2 (the second leg)
This plane is CLEARLY an upgrade from the previous segment.  The seats are nice (and recline oddly far).  I discovered that the Big Bang Theory can actually be funny in Spanish, too...eventhough I only catch about 1 out of every 50 words.  Then I figured out (half way through the episode) that you can change the audio channel to listen in English!  SCORE!  Again, they served another excellent meal.

Tomorrow I take the crazy route to get to La Tortuga Feliz, where I will be out of service for a couple of weeks.  Now...I sleep.  :)
